Productbeschrijving

These six funny stories in Book 1, with their wonderfully simple and elegant illustrations will take you on some seriously funny adventures with Adam, Eve, God and Dog, and lots of crazy animal characters in the Garden of Eden. If you like storytelling, fables, tall tales, animal stories, or the Just So Stories of Rudyard Kipling and Anansi the Spider, then you will enjoy these. To be read aloud or read by yourself; either way you will enjoy the misunderstandings, plays on words and just pure stupidity that can be had within. The stories in this book are intended for children in the age range 8 to 12 and for adults who like to read with them and laugh. What was God like when he walked on the surface of the Earth in the beginning? I rather think he would have been like a very old and very eccentric hobbyist; single minded and intent on creating his world; in love with its perfections and its imperfections; constantly changing his mind and his plans; happy sometimes too, to just sit down and go with the flow. And his creations? Well of course we were just one of them and he had a purpose and a future for them all. We liked to think we were the most important ones- but maybe, just maybe, sometimes we did things and said things that really annoyed him and sometimes he chose them or the 'plan' over us. So here is Adam; he's got a good heart, he means well, he's keen to be liked by God (and Eve) but he's hasty, accident prone and full of the most ridiculous schemes. Eve loves him to bits, but she knows his faults and she likes to remind him of them! She's clever, she knows somehow too, that gradually all good things have to come to an end. You can't have the free will of an adult and still behave like a child and expect 'Dad' to rescue you all the time. Increasingly she finds she has to help Adam out of his fixes. Then there's Dog: Man's best friend. Faithful to his master, hilariously stupid (like him) sometimes, and always on the lookout for a meal.Together they explore a world where there is humour in everything and doing nothing is a last and first resort. Along the way we find out why dogs hate cats and turtles look like tortoises. And always, always, with a smile. Well, we are alive, aren't we?Book 1 is the first of a series of three books, which develop the characters and the events. Book 2 illustrations will be finished shortly.
