Thomas Allibone Janvier (1849-1913) was an American story-writer and historian of Huguenot descent born at Philadelphia. He had common school education and was engaged in editorial work on Philadelphia Press, Bulletin and Times from 1870 to 1881. The Dutch Founding of New York was originally published in 1903.
